The Alumni Association recently elected Khwezi Blose, current Association Vice President, as one of two members elected by the Association to serve on Council. Khwezi is the CEO of Masakeni Civil Construction firm and the owner and MD of Siyaya Hygiene Services.

NEWLY ELECTED... Alumnus and Vice President of the Alumni Association Khwezi Blose has been duly elected as the Alumni Association Representative to serve on Council. His qualifications include a BSc (Construction Economics) and a BScHons (Quantity Surveying).

He received Double Colours as a member of the university choir 1998-2009 and is still actively involved with the official choir.

NMMU Council is the highest decision-makling body of the University, responsible for the good order and governance of the University and ultimately accountable for the performance and affairs of the University. Alumni is a very important stakeholder group and is recognised to be part of the institutional governance structures. The two representatives on Council also serve on the Alumni Association Executive Committee. The other Association member serving on Council is Prof Hugh Jeffery, a former Dean of Engineering and the one representative on the Institutional Forum is Evert Knoesen.
