Dr Gaathier Mahed PhD Geology '13 graduate and 2017 Alumni Rising Star Award recipient just released his first book called "The Mad Scientist". The book is available on amazon kindle. Mahed is also a enior Lecturer: Geohydrologist in the Department of Geosciences at Nelson Mandela University. 
 

 
Alumnus to compete at International Competitions
 
Diploma (Building) graduate and Madibaz swimmer Alaric Basson will compete at the FINA World Aquatics Champs from July 21 to 28 in South Korea!
 
This is the first time ever that a Madibaz swimmer is going to the world champs. He was also selected for the World Student Games, which takes place from July 3 to 14 in Italy.
 
 

BTech Public Relations Management Alumnus and USSA Media Officer, Brittany Blaauw, will be heading to the World Student Games in Italy in July as one of the Media Officers for the Games.

Sesethu Gqomo, Mandela University BA & Bahons (Corporate Communication) graduate, is currently the Founding Director at Sesethu Gqomo Communications and has played a huge role in the Student Alumni Society.

Home-grown sculptor behind the iconic naming and re-naming images

 

“I feel that art plays a fundamental role within society and the small act of drawing iconic figures, the process of creative re-representation, assists in reiterating the importance of such figures in contemporary society more so than what an archival photograph would have, says artist Jonathan van der Walt.
