Asiphe Mxalisa - Alumni Association Elected Member
Asiphe Mxalisa, BAdmin ’17, BA Hons (Political Science) ’18 and MA (Political Studies) ’21 alumna is currently a Lecturer for the Centre for Postgraduate Studies at Rhodes University while completing her PhD in Higher Education.
Prior to this she held various positions at Nelson Mandela University including Postgraduate Administrator, Research Assistant and Lecturing Assistant among others. She is a social and gender activist whose purpose is driven by youth development. She is working and contributing in various spaces in Higher Education like Lecturing, Research Development and Gender work.
She is also involved with community development work through an organisation she Founded in 2019 called Ukhozi Youth Development Programme which is an NGO operating in Molteno and she is a Director at Evoke Research Primary Cooperative. She is also currently the Chairperson of the Gender Action Forum.
