The Student Alumni Society (SAS) is a student development society residing under the management of the Alumni Relations Directorate, pre-alumni section and affiliated to the Student Governance and Development Department.
 
SAS unites current students (pre-alumni) by creating strong value, pride, and tradition for both students and future Mandela alumni of the university. Positively influencing the student experience by providing engaging opportunities creating alumni awareness through valuable programmes, developmental workshops, fundraising initiatives, graduate attributes, volunteer experience through outreach programmes and networking opportunities.
 
There is a R20 membership fee for 2023.
