Kaya Ngubentombi - Alumni Association Elected Member 

Kaya Ngubentombi, LLB ’16 alumnus is an admitted attorney of the High Court of South Africa and a legal practitioner duly registered as such with the Legal Practice Council, a statutory body that governs the legal profession in the country. He is currently employed as an Associate at McWilliams & Elliot Inc, a firm of Attorneys, Notaries and Conveyancers with over 169 years of experience and the oldest law firm in Gqeberha. His practice focuses on Municipal Law, Administrative Law, Commercial Law and Litigation.
 
Kaya has a passion for community development and empowerment. This passion found its shape when he was a student activist committed to the development of students coming from wide ranging circumstances and family backgrounds. Kaya spent much of his time in the institution assisting students with issues related to access to the instittution, financial aid and access to student accommodation.
 
His message to the Alumni and borrowing from the famous words of former President Nelson Mandela, "[e]ducation is the most powerful weapon which you could use to change the world", thus it is important that we invest in our institution and ensure that there are funds to assist those who are less privileged to study, succeed and create a future where unemployment does not exist.
