Mandela Alumni recognised on M&G 200 young South Africans list

Mail & Guardian (M&G) recently recognised three Nelson Mandela alumni who form part of the 200 young South Africans initiative for 2023. 

For almost two decades M&G has celebrated the youth of South Africa and the impact the make daily. This year over 15 inclusive categories are celebrated which aims to recognise and reward youth who have created resilient, entrepreneurial and robust solutions. 
 
 
Congratulations to the following alumni on the incredible recognition as a visionary in their various fields and categories: 
 
•Dr Jackson Tshabalala (Civil Society) is the Operations Manager for Leva Foundation and has assisted the Tangible Africa project which introduces coding concepts withing computers engaging with 100,000 learners and trains 20,000 teachers across South Africa, as well as in other African and European countries. 
 
•Prof Noluxolo Gcaza (Education) is an Associate Professor at Nelson Mandela University, leading a new accredited cybersecurity postgraduate course, mentored and coached young girls and women in IT on Heels. She also serves as an independent non-executive director for the South African Banking Risk Information Centre.
 
•Siqhamo Yamkela Ntola (Environment) is an Environmental activist and a senior lecturer at the University of South Africa (Unisa) teaching environmental and international law. He is the co-founder of the African Ocean Governance Institute as well as a member of the International Union for Conservation of Nature’s plastic pollution task team.
