Nelson Mandela University celebrated its  Summer Graduation in the Indoor Sport Centre on Monday, 12 November 2022 with the capping and hooding of 83 masters and 26 doctoral graduands.

The Summer Graduation was followed by the first of nine Graduation Recognition Ceremonies from the afternoon on Monday  12 December until Thursday 15 December.

Over 4 000 students who graduated in abstentia due to the restrictions of the coronavirus pandemic of 2020 and 2021 took up the opportunity to return to the institution to walk across the stage before family and friends.

The Alumni Association President, Siphile Hwlatika, represented the Faculty of Law as a guest speaker for its Recognition Ceremony and shares his message with fellow alumni...

“Congratulations on your achievement!  As President of the Alumni Association, I would like to officially welcome you to the Alumni Association, which is the University’s fastest and ever-growing stakeholder. All your hard work and perseverance have led you to this proud and historic moment in your lives. You had to overcome your personal and academic challenges during the COVID-19 pandemic, and you have certainly shown great fortitude and resilience. We are immensely proud of your accomplishments and wish you all the best with your future endeavours.
Wherever you go, we hope that you will be proud ambassadors of this University and that you will carry our namesakes’ legacy, ethos, and values.”
