On July 20, 2017 our university was officially renamed Nelson Mandela University. This is a great privilege and huge honour as we are the only university in the world to carry the name of the late State President.
Important events will be take place during August. The Alumni Association will host its annual AGM as well as celebrating diversity month with the annual Alumni Reflectons Event.

On Monday 24 July, the President of the Alumni Association, Dr Randall Jonas and our DVC: Institutional Support, Dr Sibongile Muthwa opened the doors to the rebranded University Shop carrying a new range of branded clothing, corporate gifts and accessories.
Port Elizabeth born and bred Vusa Zaya, is the newly appointed Brand Ambassador for Rémy Martin. Zaya is a BTech Public Relations graduate.
