Adv Thanduxolo Nkala – Alumni Association Executive Committee member

Adv Thanduxolo Nkala LLB’16 is an elected member of the Alumni Association Executive Committee. Further studies include a UCT certificate in Commercial mediation (2018). He is currently working at the High Court of South Africa as an advocate and is also an entrepreneur. As a student, Thanduxolo served as a Faculty of Law SRC Representative and SRC Deputy President. He played a leading activist role in the #FeesMustFall movement protests of 2015 and 2016. His community involvement includes serving in a clothing and textile social enterprise geared towards empowering mainly women and youth in Msinga, a rural village in KZN. 
Thanduxolo is passionate about his alma mater because of the University’s socio-political orientation and its unique identity as a dynamic African University. Mandela University promises to be one of the universities of the future, predicated on innovation, sustainability, and social impact. Serving as an executive member of the Alumni Association provides him a platform to continue that dedicated service and relationship of deep affection with Mandela University, whilst continuing with his budding professional and entrepreneurial life. Social justice, education & skills development, entrepreneurship with a focus on community development as well as a social impact element are all areas he is passionate about.
