Highlights of our current Alumni activities.

 

THE Black Management Forum BMF has announced Thabile Wonci as its new managing director. Wonci is joining the BMF from an investment bank where he was responsible for financial reporting, controls and oversight, overall business management and driving the operational strategy for the subSaharan representative offices. He holds a BCom degree from Nelson Mandela University


BSc (Hons) alumnus and postgraduate student, Byron Batteson, has developed an educational mobile application for pupils teaching basic computer programming principles at primary school level. The app was introduced to the Nelson Mandela Bay metro at the Christmas in the Home expo on December 1 and was free to download on androids.


Parmesvari Natesan, alumnus and Alumni Rising Star Award Recipient was named as one of Destiny Magazine’s Power of 40, which is a prestigious list of 40 women to watch, under the age of 40 on the African continent.


Alumnus and Alumni Rising Star Award recipient Baxolile Mabinya, launched his company "Deviare" along with his partner Lubabalo Dyantyi. Mabinya holds the position as Technologist, Executive Director and Visionary. Deviare invests in partnerships across the technology landscape in order to scale rapidly.

Alumnus and Alumni Special Award recipient, Nomkhita Mona has been appointed chief executive of the Nelson Mandela Bay Business Chamber. Previous positions held by Mona include group chief executive at the South African Forestry Company SOC Ltd, chief executive of the Uitenhage Despatch Development Initiative and chief executive of the Eastern Cape Tourism Board.
